dressed in smelly rags or shiny polyester,
and either way your soul itches badly.
Because you know the sensation of the divine breath
on your naked skin, you know the trembling aliveness
of living in the land of the unmasked,
where you, along with the thieves and the saints,
for once trust that you are
beautiful.
